A dedicated hall used for moot court exercises, where students argue prepared problems and practise oral advocacy before faculty.
The moot court hall is a dedicated space on campus where students take part in moot court exercises as part of their practical training. Students research a prepared problem, draft their written submissions and then argue the matter before faculty members.
Moot court work helps students understand courtroom etiquette, the order of proceedings, the manner of addressing the court and the discipline of arguing within a set time. Faculty give feedback on preparation, structure of arguments and presentation so that students improve with each exercise.
Practical training of this kind is an important part of legal education prescribed for law courses, and the hall is used through the academic year for internal moot exercises and related activities.
